St. Michael’s Conference is a 7-day gathering where an intentional community of prayer, support, and education helps to form young Christians (12-19 years old) to be witnesses to the world of the Saving Power of Jesus Christ.  Through worship, study, discussion, recreation, and relaxation, the community seeks both a clearer vision of God in Christ and the strength and power to fight evil and serve God. Who may attend?
The conference is open to youth ages 12 to 19. To be eligible, a candidate must be 12 at the start of the conference. Conference attendees should desire a deeper intimacy with God. Questions and doubts are a part of the process and do not disqualify a serious candidate.

What will it cost?
The total cost for the week is $500. A deposit of $150 is required when you register and is non-refundable. Scholarships are available, St. Michael's conference will not let money be a reason to miss this wonderful opportunity.

Where is the conference held?
Our venue is Santa Teresita Youth Conference Center - which a Roman Catholic conference center that is the ministry of the Diocese of Fresno, which has worked well with the Anglican Diocese of San Joaquin for many years.

What classes are offered?

• TOBIT – Fr Luke Childs - Blinding through bird poop. Entertaining an angel unaware. A crosscountry voyage to obtain riches. Love destined from eternity. Exorcism. And a dog. What could be more fun? Come and see.

• THE ORIGINS OF BAPTISM - Fr David Peterson - This course will take an in-depth look at the origins of baptism, Jesus' baptism, baptism and conversion, baptism and discipleship, and the significance of the act of baptism. We will learn why there are different baptism practices in the broader Christian Church and have a deeper appreciation of Anglicanism.

• IT'S A MYSTERY – Dcn Jim Stubblefield - Exploring the history, traditions, mysteries, and praying of the Holy Rosary

• EXPLORING BIBLICAL MANHOOD - Fr Townsend Waddill - THIS IS A MALE ONLY CLASS. Much of the conversation about the role of men and women in our 21st century culture is governed by radical secular forces rather than Biblical theology and Catholic teaching, and because of this, relationships are much more strained, and our divorce rates are higher than they’ve ever been. Since we are called by God to live with the Holy Scriptures as our guide and not the secular culture, this course will explore God’s unique design for men and how we are called to live as spiritual leaders and as men of God. 

• THE COMMUNION OF SAINTS & FAITHFUL CHRISTIAN LIVING - Fr Noah Lawson- What is the mystical bond between the Church on earth, in purgatory, and in heaven, allowing for intercession and spiritual support across these realms? The goal of this class is to explore the doctrine of the Communion of Saints which teaches that all believers, both living and deceased, are united in a spiritual community with Christ as the head, sharing in the grace and prayers of one another.  The class will focus on the biblical basis for this doctrine, the role of saints, and the practice of invoking the prayers of the saints. 

• THE MASS – (REQUIRED for all FIRST-YEAR students) – Fr Brandon LeTourneau - What is the Mass? Why do we do what we do? What did Jesus mean when he said, “Do this in remembrance of me”? 

• TRAINING IN RIGHTEOUSNESS – (REQUIRED for all SECOND-YEAR students) –  Fr Hayden Butler - “There is a story about a schoolboy who was asked what he thought God was like. He replied... that God was ‘The sort of person who is always snooping round to see if anyone is enjoying himself and then trying to stop it.’ And I am afraid that is the sort of idea that the word Morality raises in a good many people’s minds, as something that stops you from having a good time. In reality, moral rules are directions for running the human machine” from Christian Behavior by C.S. Lewis. This course will look at Christian decision making and our relationship with our Heavenly Father. 

• CHURCH HISTORY – (REQUIRED for all THIRD-YEAR students) – The Sweeping Saga of the great commission unfolding through the pages of history from the Acts of the Apostles to the 21st Century.

La Conferencia de San Miguel es un encuentro de 7 días en el que una comunidad intencional de oración, apoyo y educación ayuda a formar a jóvenes cristianos (12-19 años) para que sean testigos ante el mundo del Poder Salvador de Jesucristo.  A través del culto, el estudio, el debate, la recreación y la relajación, la comunidad busca tanto una visión más clara de Dios en Cristo como la fuerza y el poder para luchar contra el mal y servir a Dios. ¿Quién puede asistir?
La conferencia está abierta a jóvenes de 12 a 19 años. Para ser elegible, un candidato debe tener 12 años al comienzo de la conferencia. Los asistentes a la conferencia deben desear una intimidad más profunda con Dios. Las preguntas y dudas son parte del proceso y no descalifican a un candidato serio.

¿Cuánto costará?

• EXPLORANDO LA HOMBRÍA BÍBLICA - P. Townsend Waddill - ESTA CLASE ES SOLO PARA HOMBRES.
